Anybody else think that Fall for Greenville would do well to move the festival back a week or two. The falls around here have become warmer over the past ten years or so, and the leaves are changing a little later. It would be nice if the leaves were closer to peak, and the temps a little lower (than it has been of late anyway) if we ae going to have a major Fall Festival.

And cooler temperatures would help people stick around longer... It's definitely worth mentioning to someone at Greenville Events.

September 22-24: Southern Exposure

From their site: Southern Exposure Cultivate your senses at Southern Exposure presented by The Cliffs Communities.

This three-day experience in Greenville, SC, will showcase wine, food, and music through programmed tasting events, roundtables, musical performances, and celebrity chef-hosted culinary demonstrations.

Proceeds from this event will support the 501 C3 (LBDG) started by restaurateur Carl Sobocinski and platinum selling musician Edwin McCain to benefit Upstate non-profit organizations.

Wow...here I was getting all psyched up about Southern Exposure this weekend, but then I realized I didn't budget appropriately for it.

EVERYONE set your clocks now: The re-broadcast of the first Greenville Symphony Orchestra Masterworks concert from last month is scheduled to air on SCERN (NPR 90.1fm) Monday, October 9, at 8:00pm. You will hear why I have been touting this orchestra so much. I attended both the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon performances and was equally blown away by both. The GSO is definitely the best symphony orchestra in the state, and performs in the best concert hall in the state. Be sure to listen to the end of the concert, since it gets better as it goes along and finishes with a huge bang. :shades:

Quick Facts:

What: GSO's 1st Masterworks concert

Where: 90.1fm SCERN (NPR)

When: Monday, October 9, 2006, at 8:00pm

If any of you have a "gently used" coat that you would like to donate, remember the West End Coat Drive. Sponsored by several West End merchants, the coats are going to charities (one being Safe Harbor). A good cause in this season of goodwill. You can drop them in any of the yellow bins set-up in West End through the end of January.
