Memphis Housing Market

Pretty nice to see Tennessee's two premiere cities making it into the top five. Memphis is second while Nashville ranked fifth.

This is a nice stat in some ways for Memphis. It encourages home ownership and corporate relocation...we need more of both! Some economists might argue, though, that a stable housing market in a growing economy means a relatively slow growth rate for the city. In other words, Memphis's economy doesn't follow the peaks and valleys of the national economy but, rather, sees slow, continuous growth. Diverging views of economists, however, suggest to me that they do not have an accurate historical model for the current housing market. Bottom line, though, I'd feel comfortable purchasing a home in many Memphis markets.
