The Bulls got stomped by the Pistons again last night, and the Warriors lost to Utah in a thriller.

The only team I'm pulling for right now is Golden State, as I like the whole "underdog" role, along with Baron Davis.

BTW, for anyone with the NFL Network, Saints DE Charles Grant, who just recently signed a new $63 million contract with the team, will be a guest tonight on NFL Total Access. That will be on at 6:00 central tonight, with re-runs being played throughout the night.

I am glad the Saints took care of Charles Grant like that. But now the other DE Will Smith will be wanting something similar.

The Pistons are playing there best ball of the season at the right time. They look as good (or better) as any team in the playoffs right now. The series returns to Chicago where the Bulls are in a "must win" situation down 2-0. Rookie- Tyrus Thomas looked much better last night scoring 17 off the bench.

I like the underdog role myself. The Jazz are a feisty group. They were down 2-0 to the Rockets and came back to win the series. As you said Nate, great ball game last night.

The NBA is all about match'ups; it's kind of funny.

I am a Pheonix Suns fan. I like their fast-style of play! Steve Nash is always fun to watch!!! He's also as tough as nails and didn't even flinch when he got 6 stitches on the bridge of nose) Sunday with unintentional collison with Tony Parker's(forehead) who layed on the ground for awhile. Nash was unable to continue bec. the bleeding would not stop.

Also like Amare Stoudamire who came off of serious microfracture knee surgery and had a great season thus far. Like the "matrix" Shawn Marion too. And "6th Man" Award winner Leandro Barbosa. The Suns are down 1-0 to the Spurs. They really need to win tonight; they can't dig themselves into a deeper hole.

All these Western Conf. Playoff games are on so late! It's not very fun waking up early to go to work.

^Thanks for the info Nate  The Saints definetly won't be sneaking up on anybody in 07'.

*Who said 13 was an unlucky number?? LSU CB-(rookie free agent) Sammy Joesph was picked up this past week by the 49ers. Though he never started for LSU after transfering from Colorado. This now makes 13 new LSU Tiger rookies that will be in this years NFL Summer Training camps :tough:

Well, Walter Thomas, that "physical freak" that created so much hype, lasted 15 minutes in the Saints first mini-camp practice. He was brought to the training room after 15 minutes out on the field, and was cut shortly there after.

The various Saints forums are buzzing with disappointment.

I wouldn't fret over it too much; the Saints are in good hands at DT. Starters are strong with Hollis Thomas "the run stuffer" and the athletic Brian Young. And very capable back-up's with Rodney Leisle, Willie Whitehead and Antwan Lake.

Walter Thomas fell as quickly as he rose. The NFL ain't no joke!

Also heard that 1st round pick WR-Robert Meachem came up a little lame in mini-camp.

I realize "a rule is a rule" but it's plain stupid; the NBA ticks me off!!! 1st team NBAer Amare Stoudamire and Boris Diaw are suspended for tonights Game 5 Suns vs. the Spurs. For simply leaving the bench after their star player Steve Nash got a cheap shot(again) smash by Robert Horry into the scorer's table. This is a devestating blow to the Suns. The series is tied 2-2. The Spurs are now my new least favorite team, taking the title from the hated Lakers.

It's pretty sad isn't it, Richy? That rule needs to be changed immediately; David Stern, however, still thinks it is "a good rule." The fact that the Suns are suffering more from suspentions because of something a Spurs player did is ridiculous.

"Big shot Rob" really lived up to his moniker on that one, didn't he?

BTW, I've never had much use for the Spurs, but this series just pushed them to the bottom of my list as well. Bowen tries to clip Stoudamire from behind, knees Steve Nash in the groin, and Robert Horry knocks Nash clean off his feet into the scorer's table. What a great way to respond from being called a "dirty team."

Of course I have alot of respect for Tim Duncan, who is usually a very classy guy. Beyond that, though, I just don't care.

Very well said Nate. You definetly know your stuff! If Horry's incident was actually the first time for this stuff to happen in the series, maybe they never leave the bench in the first place :dunno: Like you said, it's the acccumulation of things that were mentioned. Bowen is a great defensive player, but he obviously should have at least been fined. And I think Duncan is a great ball player too, but also the biggest whiny baby this side of Kobe Bryant.

Hopefully the Suns will go on a 3 pt. barrage tonight with Barbosa, Nash, James Jones, Raja Bell, etc. Bad thing is Diaw is Stoudamire's back-up. I can't give up on the Suns. Those guys hopefully won't be too deflated playing the extra minutes. Bec. Game 6 is Friday and Game 7 Sunday (if necessary?)

The Suns made me proud Wednesday Night w/o Stoudamire and Diaw. They lead most of the game only to lose at the end 88-85. Now down 3-2; returning back to San Antonio tonight. Will Nash, Marion, Bell, etc. have there legs back tonite after playing nearly the entire game?? Will Stoudamire/Diaw have fresh legs???

GO SUNS!!!

You are quite welcome Trae. Louisiana has been full of super sleepers in the past. Marshall Faulk being a prime example; out of high school he was only considered at DB by LSU, Nebraska, and Miami. San Diego St. said they would try him at RB; the rest is history. I can only imagine if Jacoby Jones had gone to LSU instead of tiny- Lane College. There would not have been enough footballs to go around. I'll keep my eye on him with the Texans.

Thanks for that clip Trae. Jacoby Jones should compliment Andre Johnson. I felt bad for QB David Carr, his O-Line stunk. Schaub is not as mobile. I hope the O-Line has improved for his sake?? It's ashame Breaux Bridge-native RB-Domanick Williams(Davis) had such a serious injury; wonder if he will ever be the same.

>>According to SportingNews the Saints have the best pair of DE's in the NFC with Charles Grant and Will Smith. Back-up's are Willie Whitehead and "wildman" Rob Ninkovich who was impressive as a rookie before blowing out his knee.

But SportingNews is not sold on the Saints back-up QB Jaime Martin. Undrafted rookie free-agent Tyler Palko could stick around at least on the practice squad??

The O-Line sucked when Carr first started, but didn't his last three years. On NFL Network, they did a segment on that:

Brian Baldinger said Schaub can read defenses. They showed some footage. He sees the middle of the field completes a pass between defenders. They had a play where BB said...watch Schaub he waits until the defenders turn their heads and takes off running...he's not a stiff like some had said . They showed a play where Schaub threw deep but I was typing. BB said the Falcons did not change their gameplan for Schaub .

He then said Carr struggled reading defenses. They showed Carr with two guys open in the middle of the field and didn't see them. He said you have to throw to get the lead and run to keep it and that the Texans need to do better at going deep...duh .

Rod Woodson and Lombardi ex Raider guy...said Carr needs time to regroup and get his eye level up...stop looking for the rush. They said he got in the bad habit of just looking for AJ.

They also said Carr was a turnover waiting to happen .

Thanks for that imput Trae. We wondered if the Falcons made a mistake letting Schaub go?? He looked good when I saw him filing in for Vick! I will keep him in mind this coming Fantasy Football season  And WR-Andre Johnson is a beast! :tough: I had him last FFL season.

How bout this for next FFL season at WR??? Chad JOHNSON, Andre JOHNSON, and rookie-Calvin JOHNSON???

*LSU mega-recruit QB-Ryan Perrilloux now a Soph.(20 years old) was suspended indefinitely for using his older brother's I.D. to gamble at one of the local riverboat casino's. Hope he's back by August Summer Camp!

He must have known he would get caught. Using his older brother's ID knowing he looks nothing like his brother, unless they're twins.

The New Orleans Voodoo, New Orleans' AFL team, will be playing on in a nationally televised game tommorow night on ESPN2. The Voodoo will take on the New York Dragons in the New Orleans Arena.

The Voodoo have seen tremendous support from New Orleans, with the team leading the league in average and total attendance in their first season two years ago, and selling the most season tickets in AFL history this year. (The Voodoo did not play last year after Katrina)

Check it out if you can!

Native New Orleanian, former LSU star, and current New England Patriots defensive end, Marquise Hill, has been missing on Lake Ponchartrain for the past 13 hours. He and a woman were thrown from a jet ski last night at around 9:00 p.m. near the Industrial Canal in the lake; both were not wearing life jackets. The woman was eventually saved, but Marquise was out of sight when the boat turned around to get him.

Tune into WWL 870 AM in New Orleans for updates! If you're anywhere in South Louisiana, WWL should be an easy pick-up on the AM dial.
