Fire chief might rule out arson

Anderson Independent-Mail (SC)

2006.01.18

Westminster's historic train depot, listed in 1976 on the National Register of Historic Places, burned down Tuesday night. The building housed the Westminster Chamber of Commerce and served as the headquarters for the South Carolina Apple Festival. The shell of the building remains. Rebuilding it is up in the air. The depot site is currently part of Norfolk Southern property and Westminster was leasing it from them.

Old news, but a couple days after the fire, they caught the guy who started it. The Westminster Chamber of Commerce is trying to raise funds to rebuild. There were historic artifacts and documents stored in the building; I hope someone had made photos or scans of that stuff!
