GA 92 Bypass- Douglasville, GA

Was wondering if anyone had any info as to the progress of GA 92 in Douglasville? The project slated was to be a bypass of sorts around the city of Douglasville over the current CSX Tracks joining the current 92 north of the city. Complete with bridge over the tracks, US 78 and the re-alignment of the hwy when completed.

I keep reading about it in the local newspaper here, the Douglas County Sentinel, but never about when it's supposed to start, how long it will take, and whether it's just talk or an actual project.

Any info will be great.

As far as I know, the hwy 92 rerouting may never take place. While the project was still in it infancy the engineering company that was doing the design went bankrupt. That coupled with the fact that D'ville has been struggling financially for a few years has really placed the project low on the priority scale.

Thanks. Good to know info. I was wondering for a while how they were going to do a project of that scale, but as you posted, it looks like it won't happen.
