Anyone have a clue which theatre this is? I cant seem to get the 2700 seats number to match up with the any of the theatres I know. Just wondering if its the saeger, orpheum, state palace, joy, munincipal auditorium or some college venue! The saenger has 2800 seats so perhaps this is it?

I think this is most likely the Saenger. Read an article on nola a few months back that said that a deal was done to get the saenger theatre renovated.

Brand new website has premiered for The Roosevelt New Orleans. This property looks to be quite amazing. A Guerlain Spa is an impressive get for the hotel( one of only three in the USA), as well as a new John Besh restaurant.

FYI The new high rise project at 930 Poydras is scheduled to open by the end of this year. With the rumor of the economy having bottomed out perhaps another big project down town will be green lighted by then.

I dont know much, but Ill tell you this economy isnt close to bottoming out. Look for much worse in the fall, and that unfortunately means unless the government is paying for/subsidizing it, you cant get a loan for your project.

30 story condo tower reported today on Bidclerk for May 2010 construction start. Does anyone know what project this might be?

I see this building going up every work day. I can only hope that the portion of the curtain wall that is up is far from finished product. It is dark and dreary.

The windows are starting to go up now, should lighten up the curtain. Also on the test strips there were a lot of light grey and green panels as well. I think the final project will be much better.

ON THE RIVER: The $30 million Reinventing the Crescent redevelopment project will replace old cargo docks with a public waterfront park that includes bake paths and walkways.

A BIGGER D-DAY: $300 million will quadruple the size of the National World War II Museum.

and get this, the project is so over budget, they could have built two new bridges next to it, for the price of retro fitting the existing one.

It is hurricane proof, can float, will contain 1M square feet of commercial space, a school, a hospital, 20K residences and 3 casinos. Interestingly enough, it isn't April Fool's.

This website has pics and computer generated video showing the approaches, etc. The eastbound approaches are rising very quickly on the westbank, and the westbank surface road is visible as one comes on the down-ramp on the westbank side. The cement supports have the HPL bridge support arch on them.

A few weeks ago, the crane at 930 Poydras was raised about a hundred feet over the weekend. It is now even with the 26th floor of the First Bank & Trust Tower, which makes me wonder whether the final height will be a little higher.

Speaking of the First Bank & Trust Tower, the flood lighting hasn't been working on it lately. Come to think of it, the lights on top of the Energy Center haven't been working either, at least not on a regular basis.

When Benson buys Dominion, I hope he fixes up the lighting, only half of which work.
