Lenox Square/Phipps Plaza

I was looking at The Streets of Buckhead on wikipedia.com and noticed that Gucci has been added to the list, which currently has their boutique in Phipps Plaza. The boutique went through a multi million dollar renovation in 2006, but I'm not surprised to see this since Gucci Inc. also owns Bottega Veneta which is locating in the SOB. Now if they can only woo in another Gucci Inc. division to locate in the SOB, which would be Yves Saint Laurent.

Wow, so i guess this means that Gucci is leaving Phipps? I kind of dont like the fact that there will be now *3* different high end shopping areas of ATL.....why cant there be just one just like most major cities across the globe? Preferrably in downtown settings

The same reason why LA NYC Miami Dallas Chicago Boston and DC all have more than one highend shopping area...... Its only places like Charlotte Austin Tampa Denver who have just one high end destination. And you can include perimeter mall too because there steady opening highend stores there too.... Gucci isnt moving from phipps. Maybe there adding another location which is possible too...

It's ok D&G, wikipedia.com gets a lot of information wrong. You are right about that. So say it is true, then Atlanta will have two Gucci Boutiques. But I also shop there and Manami Miller is my Gucci Specialist, and maybe she can provide some more insight into this mess with wikipedia.com thumbsup.gif

Y'all don't forget that anybody can edit stuff on wikipedia. It probably was the " DOLCE & GABANNA" Person on here.

I won't get my hopes high. If it's true great. If not, that still is okay.

Looks like they are confirming that Fendi will open a store at the Neiman Marcus wing sometime this year (check News & Events row).

I'm surprised PacSun or Hot Topic haven't opened a store at Lenox. I think it would do pretty well.

I'm guessing that it will open in the former Shabby Chic space. I am not sure about Hot Topic, but PacSun has had a location at Lenox Square but it closed.

I noticed on the Fendi website that they are very particular about where they locate their boutiques. I'm really happy that Atlanta is getting a Fendi because I love their accessories.

Here is how the Fendi Boutique line up will look in the United States:

Americana Manhasset-Aspen-Atlanta-Bal Harbour-Beverly Hills-Honalulu-Houston-Las Vegas-New York-Short Hills-South Coast Plaza

Not bad at all, we are indeed very fortunate to get a Fendi.

Well one thing is for sure. Phipps Plaza won't be hurting for any jewelry boutiques. They certainly have plenty to choose from.

My only concern is the fact that Phipps Plaza was designed to be a luxury mall, and that is what Corporate City Investors were trying to do before Simon bought the mall.

Now you see boutiques like Bulgari, Fendi, Cartier, Salvator Ferragamo, Faconnable, 7 For All Mankind and others calling Lenox Square home.

Plus you have this terrible mix of tenants like Coldwater Creek, J.Jill, Justice and others that should be assigned to the Belk wing.

They should turn the second level between Saks and Nordstrom into another luxury wing. Just shuffle some stores around and then the mall will have room to court luxury retailers like I mentioned above.

And the last problem with Simon running Phipps Plaza is all of the overlapping stores that are also in Lenox Square such as Landau Jewelers, Bebe, Ann Taylor, Brookstone, Williams-Sonoma, and Mori Luggage.

Maybe Simon should consider getting a new Marketing Director to steer the mall on the course that it was origionally intended for. And I don't even have the energy to post anything about Belk since it has been debated so much on this forum.

Orlando has a cheesy Chanel and Dior... its really tiny . If this is true I hope its like the on in miami that has a ready to wear section. Instead of just handbags like the Orlando store

Well a tiny Chanel is better than no Chanel. It can't be that tiny because the wing that it is in is 20,000 square feet (just the left side from Neiman Marcus to Bloomingdale's. There's 8 stores in that wing and they all look relatively the same size, so that's about 2,000 (+/-) for each store. The A&F store below is about 15,000 square feet and it's about 5 and a half of the smaller corresponding stores on the upper level.
