Mr. N

Western Piedmont

Recommended Posts

I know in some Western Piedmont areas of North Carolina there are a number of mountains in the area, and I wonder how is it different from the mountain region of the state?

I love the foothills. There are actually little clusters that extend pretty far out into the piedmont. You can see them from the road, so you get a mountain view from all sides when entering the mountains, not just from the west.

I live in the foothills and it's great. You get the "feel" of the mountains without getting all of the nasty weather that comes with living there. In the area I'm in, we're pretty much surrounded by mountains on three sides.
