I will not be taken by surprise if an announcement occurs within the next few years regarding a smaller convention center on River Street and Camperdown Way.

Alvarez Enterprises has filed for a business license with the city of Greenville for a neighborhood supermarket at 505 North Main Street, where the "baby Bi-Lo" recently closed.

I hate to lose the jobs too, but as newspapers continue circling the drain, these jobs will be eliminated rather than just moved.  Now we can focus on redeveloping the entirety of the Greenville News operations downtown.

Judging by the stakes visible on the properties, I would say either four or all five of the parcels are being sold.

Either there are two separate projects in this area, or the other parcels are already in compliance?  There are stakes on all of the excluded parcels too.

Reading the document, it refers to residential units, so I guess it will be apartments or possibly condos.

   

Does anyone know more on this?  gman, is this the project you mentioned before that you couldn't disclose the location?
