I was home recovering from surgury when this tragedy happened so I actually saw it happen live on CNN since all I could do was watch TV at that point. When the explosion occured I didn't immedialy understand what happened but it soon became apparent this was a pretty bad situation. It's hard to believe that has been 20 years now.

Ron McNair (the black guy) went to NC A&T State University in Greensboro. The school of engineering is named after him. I was 7 years old in the 2nd grade when the Challenger explosion happened.

God rest their souls as we salute their courage and their sacrifice, 20 years later. They will never be forgotten.
