Memphis ranked #7 on "Hottest Cities" list by Exapansion Management

Expansion Management Magazine has released their yearly ranking of the "Top 50" hottest cities for business expansion, and Memphis came in #7!!! Very good news for the city and the state. Tennessee ended up with 4 cities in the Top 50, 3 of them in the top 10! Nashville #1, Memphis #7, Knoxville #9, and Jackson #42.

Tennessee is definately showing that it and its cities are business friendly and competative.

Maybe next year we can get another city or two on the list!

sweet, im hoping with the new movement of people downtown and that population growth we might move up a knotch or two.

Unfortunately, I don't think these lists mean much.

Two or three years ago, Memphis was ranked as high as no. 3, but the unemployment rate has remained stuck at around 5-6% in most of this decade. Also, the CA had an article recently lamenting the fact that economic growth in Memphis is about 1.5%/yr. whereas the national economy has been growing around 3%/yr.
