The column is called Retail Therapy and it runs most Thursdays in The Roanoke Times' Inside/Out entertainment tabloid. You can usually access some of each week's content on the Inside/Out's website at io.roanoke.com, and I tend to scan the articles each week and place them on steve's blog

I've actualy been doing this for about a year so far.

I'm a freelance writer so I do get paid for my submissions, though I don't work directly for the paper. I can do pretty much whatever I want within my retail and shopping subject area.

I sent some stuff in on an open call for submissions, got in once, then they approached me about starting a column a few months later.
