Unless the original architectural plans have been severly altered, this building is going to put Roanoke on a rather exclusive list.

Bravo Roanoke! :yahoo:

So far, it is going forward virtually the same as originally designed. I had my doubts but am glad to be proven wrong. :)

It looks like the Harrison Museum of African American Culture has made an agreement to move into the (soon to be) empty space where the Art Museum currently resides at Center in the square.

Downtown Roanoke is becoming more of a museum hub with the Link Museum, and new art museum so close to Center in the square. New idea! Expand the bottom floor of the Link museum and move the Transportation museum there.

I thought they were converting most of the building into "New Orlean style restraunts"

A slightly more comprehensive article about the relocation of the Harrison Museum.. http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/82445

Are you talking about Center in the Square or the Link Museum? I thought the 'New Orleans' theme was an idea for lots of building facades in the market area.

Since McLawsdrive frequents the Richmond pages as well as Roanoke's, I've been trying to get his attention so he can post the rendering of your exciting new art museum in Richmond's Museum thread.

McLaw! Are you listening? :) I think Richmond forumers would be astounded if they could take a look.
