My former boss is doing construction administration on the mseum. I saw him downtown at lunch. He says it's going well so far.

I saw very large augers doing some digging on the site. I can't wait until they finish the subsurface work and start constructing something above ground.

So far, it is going forward virtually the same as originally designed. I had my doubts but am glad to be proven wrong.

I went by ground zero on Monday and saw SOME progress. It appeared from my vantage point that reinforced concrete slab is being installed. It looked like it rose about 5 feet off the ground. Progress is slow, but steady. Can't wait for the steel!

It looks like the Harrison Museum of African American Culture has made an agreement to move into the (soon to be) empty space where the Art Museum currently resides at Center in the square.

Downtown Roanoke is becoming more of a museum hub with the Link Museum, and new art museum so close to Center in the square. New idea! Expand the bottom floor of the Link museum and move the Transportation museum there.

Are you talking about Center in the Square or the Link Museum? I thought the 'New Orleans' theme was an idea for lots of building facades in the market area.

No New Orleans style restaurants at CitS yet. Some of the space the Art Museum is vacating could become retail though.

The view from that camera is nice. The sunny skies are a welcome change from earlier today. I hope there will be some more steel by Thanksgiving when I'll be visiting. I'd love to see more of the framework in place.
