This is Greensboro's skyline views from Cornwallis Drive north of downtown.

construction on Greensboro's downtown minor league baseball stadium is underway. This is probabally sad news for those who love the old Burlington Industries building. As you can see in the photos, they are tearing it down.

This is Elm Street Center. This building use to be a major department store. now there is a comedy club, the Empire ballroom and a restaurant is planning to open in this building.

This building was built in 1895. It is now being converted to "The Brew House" a 3 story microbrewery and Restaurant.

This was Greensboro's first downtown firehouse. located in the southside area of downtown, the building is over 100 years old.

These are residential developments underway in the southside downtown neighborhood. The single family homes are actually brand new. They just appear to be homes that were built in the early 20th century

Most of the old architecture in the photos are Elm Street. There are a couple of photos of old buildings on Davie Street. This photo show part of an old textile mill that use to be downtown. The buildings has been converted to apartments. But yes the historic neighborhoods surrounding downtown are urban neighborhoods.
