2005 Business Person of the Year

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Cliffs 2005 Business Person of the Year banquet and award ceremony sponsored by Greenville Magazine at the Westin Poinsett Hotel. It was broadcasted (in part) on WSPA-TV channel 7. Many great names and faces were in attendace as well, and the time was filled with great conversation and honor for the greatness of Greenville and its community of professionals. Among the finalists were William Bradshaw (Bradshaw Automotive), Daniel Einstein (Rosenfeld Einstein), Doug Harper (Harper Corporation), Phil Hughes (Hughes Investments), and Jane Sosebee (Bellsouth).

There were short videos on a 15-foot screen displaying interviews and other related footage about each honoree. One of the most interesting videos was about the new SC economic development focus organization called New Carolina. Brains on Fire produced this particular video, and it was absolutely stunning.

Phil Hughes won the Business Person of the Year Award and will be featured in Greenville Magazine. Of course, among many other great developments in the Greenville area, he is best known for the one currently under construction called, "RiverPlace."

Following the dinner, guests moved to the ballroom to dance and drink half the night away.

This was a very memorable experience and I look forward to reading the feature artical when it is released. :)
