i just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you detroit for all of your warmth and kindness you showered us super bowl visitors with. detroiters are the best. i can't wait until i get back home to los angeles tomorrow and tell everybody to put detroit on their itinerary of places to visit this summer. take care motown, and i'll see you this summer for the tastefest. thank you!!!! i was told about your tastefest so i'm coming back for that. and i'm bringing with a busload of friends with me too!!!!!! once again thanks you guys. I'M NOT READY TO LEAVE YET.

i've heard awesome things about the electronic music festival and the jazz festival. i wish i could make them all, but alas i can't. so i'm gonna try the tastefest, i've been told that it's second to the chicago tastefest.

you guys have any pics of the electronic music festival and jazz festival you can post? also pics of the tastefest? i would love to see some, so i can get a awesome first glance at what i'm gonna see this summer.

awesome pics!!!!!!!! thanks hudkina. i really love that pic on the riverfront. is that a walking path or something? detroit has so much going for it. what a historic and architecturally beautiful city, it's a city that i wouldn't mind living in.

Yeah that's the beginning of the Riverwalk. When it's finished it'll stretch over 4 miles from the Ambassador Bridge to the Belle Isle Bridge. So far they've only done the stretch from Cobo Hall to the Renaissance Center.

Here's a pic in the opposite direction:

The eastern portion towards Belle Isle should be finished or near finished by this fall. I think. As far as the western walk towards the Ambassador they dont have any concrete plans yet or funds. The east riverfront is essential to Detroit's rebirth while the western portion is more for Detroits future. My guess is that the western walk will be accompanied by some proposals for the land around it.
