Grand Rapids redevelopment project to create 200 jobs

(Grand Rapids, February 14, 2006, 3:57 p.m.) An industrial site will soon get redeveloped, creating almost 200 jobs for the city of Grand Rapids.

Governor Jennifer Granholm announced Tuesday the city will work with local developer Irish Twins Group LLC to redevelop the site located at 801-803 Ionia Street.

They will use Brownfield Tax Incentives approved by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The project is expected to involve more than $9 million in private investment.

The area will be converted into a multi-use commercial and entertainment facility that will also feature commercial office space and covered parking.
