Simpsonville residents get another look at streetscape plan

Simpsonville is in the process of developing a streetscape plan to bring landscape and pedestrians into their central business district.

One prominent idea is reducing Main Street (SC-14) from 4 to 3 lanes. While a turning lane is helpful to get out of the through lanes to turn left onto another street or a business, much traffic already exists on the route. A feasible idea would be turining the other Main Street on the western side of the railroad into a two lane one-way southbound throughfare. You can still keep traffic flowing through Simpsonville and be prepared for an emergency when I-385 is blocked for something.
