Historic Tax Credit Program at Risk

I fully disagree with your assessment on the second part of your statement- eliminating waste, streamlining processes, and playing up the attractive features of rhode island would far more effectively help RI "gain traction" economically than lowering taxes for the VERY WEALTHY - who do you think are buying the historic tax credits in the first place to lower their tax burden? It sure ain't me or you, or the vast majority of rhode islanders. Its the guy who pays big bucks for accountants and attorneys to save him money on his taxes.

Bill would narrow range of historic tax credits

A bill backed by House Majority Leader Gordon D. Fox, D-Providence, the sponsor of the original tax-credit law, would disqualify single-family houses, social clubs and properties that contain fewer than 10 residential units from the popular tax-credit program.
