Developer's Webpage Is this legit? So is there room behind the Greek Orthodox Church? Interesting even for a primitive rendering!
bulldogger 84 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 That's pretty cool. It's like it says, "Hey, the city's up here."
firemick 2 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 This might give some overall scope to this area.
bulldogger 84 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 It looks like it curves and just stops, so I wonder if they plan on having it go around the church the way the Paramount will be built. They don't show that, but I get the impression it might.
Dale 2684 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 It's fantastically ugly. I think I like it.
WeNeed2Progress 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 It's fantastically ugly. I think I like it. I agree... I like it! Dunnoh why. I've always liked that church and I enjoy how it compliments it. Also, it will help bring life into that weird area, especially once Dynetech and the Vue are completed. Where did this come from and why was it never even mentioned here? I'd like to see some better renderings. Bring it on!
bulldogger 84 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Imagine a Roman Bath at the top of that thing with nothing in sight to the East except the sky.
prahaboheme 1613 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Its accomplished the impossible, its fuglier than Dynetech. Yet I like it, I think.
depechecureguyorl 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Looks like something out of Babylon. If built, I think in a strange way it will add nicely to the skyline. Definitely will catch the eye!
prahaboheme 1613 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 It will provide the important function of blocking out of view the AT&T building from the lake.
radiostatic102 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 It's so fantastically different! Very unique, plus the added benefit of taking the immediate surroundings into consideration...a real compliment to that church, I think. It kind of thumbs its nose at modern architecture. But where are they going to have room to build the Greek ampitheatre? Build it!

drewj 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 I agree, it is sketchy but I really like it. I'm actually kinda excited about it. Since we lack height, we might be able to make up for it in uniqueness.
Dale 2684 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Intersting that while the bubble-watchers wring their hands, developers continue to churn out the proposals. Are these developers hopelessly naive ? Or do they know something the bubble-watchers don't ?
firemick 2 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 ^ I thought you were going to say this design is straight out of "Mumbai".

pomegranate 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 My four year old could design a more professional website. This thing is sketchy. I agree. Even the advertising copy is kind of cheesy and second-rate - as if the ducks and a playground are some kind of selling point? "You can even rent a swan boat and paddle around the lake" -- golly gee. I almost wondered if someone was getting a head start on April fool's pranks.
orlandonative 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 UPS is right they are just trying to sell the land. Good thing, because that could well be the ugliest building ever proposed.

sunshine 626 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 I am sure some hardcore Christian would buy into this building just to be right next to a church. Good marketing.

Dale 2684 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 I am sure some hardcore Christian would buy into this building just to be right next to a church. Good marketing. I'm a hardcore Christian. And I'd buy a unit in this building just so I wouldn't have to look at it.
pip 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 My four year old could design a more professional website. This thing is sketchy. my thoughts exactly. the website looks put together with frontpage, and the written copy is aweful. I'd almost joke that one us forumers put this whole thing together as a joke. But we would have done a much more professional job!
