The screen is no longer there. However, the semi-circular shaped paved parking area is still there.

Some people dislike the idea of having another generic shopping area with surface lots. I would agree if this was in the heart of downtown. However, this is south of the CBD and will replace a very unattractive area of town. I mean, VERY UNATTRACTIVE! If you have a chance, drive by there (only during the day if I were you) and you will be very happy to know that a brand new complex will be going there.

P.S. I hope they are tearing down those two abandoned car repair places on Kunze Ave. as well. Those places look like serial killer hangouts.

taco bell was torn down last week, the pollo tropicale is boarded up and will probably go soon I think. I still wonder what plans they have for those three outparcels. nothing I've seen so far addresses them, though I think it was always the intent of the developer to incorporate them into the development.

I drove be yesterday and all out parcels have been demolished and they have a fence around the main building. It looked like they were tearing stuff out and getting ready to knock it down. The back portion of the property where SuperTarget is going has been completely prepped and is staked out for foundation work to start. I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the Target would open in Summer 2008. Ambitious, but it could happen.
