-- Steve & Barry's University Sportswear has opened at Oak Hollow Mall in Hiigh Point in the old Goody's space.

-- Guitar Center has signed a lease for 10,000 square feet of space in Greensboro on Vanstory Street near Four Seasons Town Centre. No word yet on will it will open.

That would be the second Dick's in the triad now. In comparison, Charlotte area has like 9 and the Raleigh-Durham area has 5 or 6.

There aren't a lot of great spots in the Triad for a Dick's. Winston-Salem and Greensboro could get one on their respective north sides, Burlington and High Point could each stand one, but that's only about four additonal locations at best.

there's an Ashley Furniture planned for Greensboro too. the W-S journal says it will open in aug. and the one in Winston will open in nov.

Man, I wish there was a Jimmy John's in Charlotte. I found myself craving that the other day. I know it's just a turkey sandwich, but something about it is very delicious!

I don't think there is another Chipotle in NC, but they don't have any NC locations on their website yet, so I'm not sure.

I would kill for a Wild Wings Cafe in Greensboro. They are all over S.C. and they have one in Charlotte and Asheville. Need a Cheesecake Factory for the Triad also, hmmmmm I am making myself hungry.

I think Friendly Center in Greensboro might get a Cheesecake Factory.

I would not be surprised if a Friendly landed Cheesecake Factory. I know Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware are old news in other markets, but I believe Greensboro could support either or both. I think I may have seen an ad in Career Builder for a management position for a Maggiano's Little Italy for Greensboro, this is another chain that would fit well.

Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn's parent, has three stores in the Triad, and adding a Pottery Barn in Greensboro would be a good logistical move. Restoration Hardware is finally moving back into expansion mode, so that's a possibility too.

today's journal said that the Sagebrush on stratford rd. will be replaced by another restaurant. i can understand the reasoning...a lot of newer steak restaurants are in that area. i wonder what they have in mind.

Sagebrush proabably got a real estate offer it coudn't refuse. Hard to say what will replace it, but it's certainly a good location.

Its a good possibilty. Friendly Center is actually the perfect place to put one. But you know what, I love Junior's Cheesecakes. They only have Juniors in the northeast though. Cheesecakes by Alex in downtown Greensboro makes great cheesecakes too. Try the Key Lime.

How about Strader's Shoe Store in Reidsville at Pennrose Mall? I went by there tonight and was pretty impressed. It's not the fanciest store or in a prosperous mall, but it is a great local business.

Is the only one in Forsyth county the Walkertown location? I was shocked that they chose there instead of Winston. But then again, Kernersville/Walkertown area has grown faster than any other in the Triad.
