Greer is considering a proposal that would cause new buildings to be non-uniformed. Going out would be the simplistic metal sided buildings.

I would say this would be a great idea to get architecturally savy in the Greer area.

I would say this would be a great idea to get architecturally savy in the Greer area.

It hurts some smaller businesses who can less afford to use more expensive materials. I think something less restrictive that require brick/stone/masonry for the facade, but would allow metal on the sides and rear of a building, would be more appropriate.

Or maybe it could be done for different districts.

I am sure there are materials out there that function just as well as the real things at the fraction of the cost.

Although the article doesn't mention it, but TR has design standards as well. They are done through zoning. Greenville's are as well.
