Seoul - Itaewon

The Itaewon shopping area covers a 1.4 km long street with shops, restaurants, bars and street vendors. It doesn't feel like Asia at all. There were a lot of black people wandering and doing business in Itaewon.

Very cool. It looks like it has a lot more trees than say Beijing and especially Hong Kong. Probably b/c it has more rain than both. And the Chinese don't strike me as wanting to keep the trees. Were some of those Ginko trees?

Hmm.. I was in Seoul and Hong Kong, and I noticed many more trees in Hong Kong.

And while trees were scarce in Beijing, one has to remember that the desert is pretty close to Beijing and not very many trees grow naturally anyway.. and considering the trees I did see (mostly in green belts around the freeways with walking/bike paths through them), they were all planted... which means they did want them.

Seoul was still quite a nice city though, and I loved the food (well, most of it )
