Now that the Signature Tower is a go, I thought it would be good to create a thread just for the building here on UP since so many other buildings had their own individual thread. I have lots of info on the building as I talk to the developer occasionally, Tony Giarratana.

So, here are the details :

Name : Signature Tower

Location : Nashville TN, 5th Ave @ Church St

Archtitect : Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates

Developer : Tony Giarratana

Preliminary Details (May change as they usually do)

Here are some images of the most recent preliminary designs :

Here are link to other pictures that include other renderings and floor plans for the building. There was a request by the mods to remove a few pics due to copyright laws.

Here is a snipet of an interview I conducted with Tony Giarratana about many different things, but this is about the Signature Tower :

I like the design, but I don't like the colors. They are too bland. How about some blues and greens. I know bright colors wouldn't work as well in Nashville. In Charlotte, we are seeing lots of colors, which is refreshing. Although I think the colors fit better there because of the bright red/orange dirt.

In the pics that include the interstate... there appears to be a cellular tower on the left. Where are these pics supposed to be taken from? I can't imagine they would add that into the pic lol (Actually, I can't imagine why they wouldn't edit it out). It looks almost as tall as Signature! I know it's most likely on a hill somewhere... i've never seen any cell towers THAT tall lol.

That picture is taken from the Chestnut St bridge. You're right, the cell tower is ugly and I don't know why they didn't take it out. I like the view though.

I don't want to put a damper of what was obviously a lot of work, and it is appreciated, but this presentation doesn't appear to reflect what we were told about the most recent redesign. These images still show an attached parking garage with the wrapped apartments, etc. What Tony told us was that the parking would now be underground, the entire based was being redesigned to present a very pedestrian-scaled transparent look, the tower would be slimmer, taller and the existing property behind the newly re-tooled tower would keep the property where the original garage was to be located available for an additional use in the future, perhaps retail/commercial.

These seem to be the images first released some time ago. We have the 2006 Paradigm rendering which seems more in line with what we were told to expect. I'm sure others are in the works. These are the original, officially released early specs. I think things have changed substantially since then, perhaps not yet published. I think the new drawings are expected to be out in a month or so if I'm not mistaken.

That's very true. I'm suppose I'm just too anxious for the final stuff to come out, but we're all in the waiting game together. One thing I meant to point out about the drawings you posted that some may not realize is the actual shape of the building on the star pattern. It may look to some as a squarish-tower, but it'll be anything but that. Tony said it'll be "almost Asian" in they way its constructed. I can't wait to see something like rise.

"We were required to submit our development plan by January 31, 2006, which we did. We are required to submit Schematic Design Phase architectural and engineering to MDHA by April 30, 2006, which we will do."

Quote by Tony Giarratana

This is what I'm waiting for. We should have a much better idea of the real scope of this project by April, 30th. I for one think the Paradigm rendering recently published will be far closer to these Schematic Design architectural and engineering drawings than the earlier renderings. I'm hoping that then we will finally know just how many stories and how high this project will be, ending all this speculation.
