According to the Pioneer Press "Developer Jerry Trooien has signed a deal with the Westin hotel chain to operate a four-star hotel as part of his colossal Bridges of St. Paul project, sources have told the Pioneer Press."

Starwood Hotels has already announced two up-scale projects in downtown Minneapolis - the Ivy Tower Luxury Collection Hotel and the new Westin Hotel in the former F&M bank. Apparently a Westin hotel has been mentioned as being part of a Edina proposal as well.

According to the MPLS.-STPL. Business Journal: "Developers of the Bridges of St. Paul said a 30-story Westin hotel will accompany their proposed 2 million-square-foot project that's slated for the banks of the Mississippi River across .

To be called The Westin Saint Paul Hotel & Residences, the property would include 250 rooms and 82 luxury condominiums. It would cost more than $120 million to build, according to JLT Group Inc., the St. Paul-based company developing the project under supervision of the company's president, Jerry Trooien.
