Why is Simon Properties neglecting McCain mall? I've seen some very nice and successful Simon malls. Its almost like they WANT this one to die. Does it have something to do with Summit Mall? I hope it stays viable because McCain has a lot of stores not even Park Plaza has.

Still, I can't imagine letting McCain run down and rebuilding. It's such a perfect location. I've heard rumors of it being shopped around to potential buyers, FWIW.

That would be awesome if they were bought out. McCain could easily be the premier mall in the state is somebody would just invest in it. While I like Park Plaza, it just isn't large enough. McCain is the largest enclosed mall in the state and has so much potential. I hope something is done before the Shoppes at North Hills is built, if it ever is. The Shoppes would most likely be a death blow to McCain if it remains in its present state.

I agree except for one thing...McCain Mall is NOT the largest in the state, not by a long shot. I believe that both the mall in Fort Smith and NWA Mall are both larger in terms of total square footage. Truthfully, greater LR has never had a super-regional mall as was planned for Summit.
