Keep (Insert city name here) Weird

Recommended Posts

When I lived in Louisville, they were just starting the marketing campaign called "Keep Louisville Weird." Since then, I have seen slogans online saying "Keep Austin Weird" and I believe I saw "Keep Knoxville Weird." The thinking behind them seems to be to promote small, independent businesses instead of large corporations like Sprawl-Mart.

One southern city (Austin perhaps?) some redneck actually started a counter-campaign to promote the large corporate box stores, and called it "Make (city name) Normal." He thought that the "weird" campaign was being "run by a bunch of liberals trying to destroy the community."

What other cities have these campaigns, and who is behind them?
