Here are a few suggestions for you:

Things to do:

Ninth Street in Durham or Franklin Street in Chapel Hill for a nice stroll

Nasher Museum of Art (Durham/near Duke's West Campus)

Duke Gardens..really nice this time of year (Durham)

Botanical Gardens or Planetarium (Chapel Hill)

Pullen Park (near NCSU and downtown Raleigh)

Museum of Life & Science (Durham)

NC Museum of Natural Sciences (Raleigh)

NC Museum of Art (Raleigh)

Carolina Hurrincanes hockey (Raleigh)

Elmo's Diner..kid friendly (Durham/9th Street)

Mama Dip's (Chapel Hill)

Acme (Carrboro...right across the Chapel Hill border)

These should be some good options while you're in the area. Hope this helps.

Try Fodors.com or another travel website. Being travel web sites, it is "tilted" toward questions like yours. This web site is to talk about urban projects that are planned or being built.

Plenty of people at Fodors or other travel web sites to give you info
