I just read an article in HOTEL BUSINESS magazine that stated Cool Springs will be one of the first recipients of the new Starwood Hotels aloft concept. The hotel will be approximately 150 rooms. The article stated that Nissan was one of the reasons to bring this hotel brand to the area. Other first wave cities include: Oak Brook - Chicago area, Troy - Detroit area, Uptown Charlotte, Ontario - California, Mission Bay - San Diego area, Baltimore, Providence and Virginia Beach.

The Starwood design concept is around 5 floors which will fit in nicely with the area. I also expect that you'll see other hotel announcements in the next few years for Cool Springs. With the addition of aloft I predict something like Westin or maybe even a JWMarriott hotel.

Cool Springs already has both Marriott and an Embassy Suites hotels--both about 12-15 stories, so this concept hotel should be an interesting contrast to the typical corporate/office park stalwarts, i.e., the two hotels previously mentioned.
