Cherokee County site picked for nuclear plant

Seems as though Cherokee County has a nuclear power plant coming after all, The State reports. By 2016, Duke Power hopes to have 700 to 800 employees working to generate 1.1 megawatts to 2.2 megawatts of electricity from nuclear power in Cherokee County. I guess in some way this makes up for the disappointment the area received almost 25 years ago when a plan for a nuclear plant got scrapped.
