Here are some 2005 and 2004 comparisons I found on the Census website, no city figures yet posted for '05 that I could find.

Georgia 9,072,576 8,918,129

Cobb County, Georgia 663,818 654,649

DeKalb County, Georgia 677,959 674,335

Fulton County, Georgia 915,623 905,802

Gwinnett County, Georgia 726,273 700,577

Has ARIS been updated? I picked up a copy about a year ago and was told they were coming out with a new edition "real soon" but from what I've heard from others, ARC still only has the old version.

Not yet... they're still working on it.

ARC estimate for Atlanta in 2005: 442,100

That population figure is despite the continuing exodus of lower income families & gentrification resulting in smaller family/unit ratios. Most of the growth is due to condo & other infill developments. 'Booming' is relative, but considering the increases has nothing to do with suburban growth (unlike Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, etc.) but is all due to urban core infill growth. I would call the City of Atlanta's growth extremely impressive.
