BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs

We may want to change the title of this thread to simply "BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament" as the tournament is being moved to Thornblade, Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, and a 3rd yet undecided course in the Upstate.

Interestingly enough, this leaves open the possibility for another pro tournament at the Cliffs, one would think?

Hold on fellas, who are you going to get to sponsor said event at one of the Cliff's courses?

A PGA event is a major thing, and requires a lot of logistical legwork. If a Cliff's course did host a PGA event, a likely one would be the one near Asheville due to proximity to hotels and other support facilities. PGA golfers, staff and media aren't going to be crazy about a 45 minute drive everywhere.

BMW has said that only want to sponsor the Nationwide/ Charity Pro Am. Who else would be a likely candidate to put down a LOT of money to sponsor said event.

It's telling to me that the Nationwide Tour/ Charity Pro Am is moving to Thornblade so it can be closer to the city, as that was an issue for the event in the past since it moved from Verdae to the Cliff's courses.

Course Thornblade has contemplated hosting a PGA Championship in the past as well, but after study found that it just couldn't support something that big.

The BMW Pro Am is coming up this next week. No red carpet walk this year as they want to focus the energy of the event at the course. A long list of celebs this year. I'm sure you will see many of them out and about in restaurants, so get your autograph books ready. :P
