Looks pretty interesting. I've always been curious why there hasn't been much riverfront development on the Catawba River.

Agree appatone, I've heard of this project for far too long, but it's good to see some sort of update. The update being they're still working on the design.

Did they get the name of this development from West Virginia? For those of you that don't know, the county that houses the city of Charleston,WVA is named Kanawha.

Not likely - I would assume it's related to the nearby Catawba tribe.

Also, Charleston lies along the Kanawah River, and Parkersburg, WVA lies next to the Little Kanawah River...both tributaries of the Ohio River....some useless trivia for you all.

The article explains the name: "The development is named for Jane Spratt McColl's ancestor, Thomas Kanawha Spratt, who settled in York County in the mid-18th century."
