Did they get the name of this development from West Virginia? For those of you that don't know, the county that houses the city of Charleston,WVA is named Kanawha.

Also, Charleston lies along the Kanawah River, and Parkersburg, WVA lies next to the Little Kanawah River...both tributaries of the Ohio River....some useless trivia for you all.

The article explains the name: "The development is named for Jane Spratt McColl's ancestor, Thomas Kanawha Spratt, who settled in York County in the mid-18th century."

Also, this development is part of the Museum of Life and Environment. Here is a a thread on that subject from last spring: http://www.urbanplanet.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10658
