Any chance we can still squeek in a casino? I'd take that over a Christian Rock venue :sick: especially if it's as big as they are talking. We'd be branded for a century as "HolyRollerVille".

As if we don't have enough problems with that stigma already attached to our city...

i just puked a little in my mouth.. :sick:

I'd have to agree. Heck, Wyoming city-council just allowed there to be liquor by the glass on Sundays.

Zeeland is still dry, correct? I really don't think it's up to gov't to tell people where and when they can purchase alocohol....But this is leading down a slippery slope and is going OT. :)

I wouldn't mind a 40 story hotel/casino/entertainment venue.

:rofl::rofl: haaaaaaaaaaaaahahhhahahaaa

I have to say that if they are hoping to put in a proposal for this on the city-owned land, they will have a MAMMOTH fight on their hands to get it approved. :angry: Either that or face a mass-exodus of people out of Grand Rapids.

Breaking news:

As seen on the Ray Stevens website -

"Ray Stevens announces that 2005 will be his last season for performances at this theatre in Branson, Missouri."

Wondering if he'll open the show with "Ahab The Arab" for our friends in Dearborn?

Yeah, I hear ya.

All you have to do is look at Nashville and how terribly they're doing with that "stigma".

Anyone ever been to Opryland?

I have.. cool place..

I'm talking more the conservative christian stigma, which this area certainly does have. We've talked about it at length on these very forums. I'm not saying that it won't bring business, it most definately will, there's big money in religion. I'm just not sure it's how or what I want G.R. to be known as
