And believe me when I say this yall... I could post something on "Crime" everyday here in Baton Rouge too. But UP would almost become too morbid if I posted all the garbage going on in BR.. The past couple of weeks it's been outta-hand, there have been alot of murders and robberies. Teens to 60's and all ages in between. It seems like these HOT Summer months have an effect on this crap!

Yeah. I'm only posting when it's something high-profile. No need in posting every violent crime, because we'd all stay depressed... especially if ALL of us were posting about murders in our cities!

In this case it was a City Councilman and in the last case it was the owner of a well-known, longtime restaurant. High-profile cases are the only time I feel the need to bring it up.

And when stuff like this comes around you begin to realize just how big of a problem crime is in the entire state, not just your individual city. You hear about crime in New Orleans most, but all three of Louisiana's largest cities have problems, not just NOLA.

Definitely, & the thing is most inner-city schools are either directly in or near housing projects, making a potentially deadly situation even deadlier. The next suburban kid that says being in the ghetto is cool, I'll personally take him to 13th Ward, Martin Luther King Blvd. @ Valence St and he'll know first hand how good he has it.

Man, if you went to public school in New Orleans, you'd be dealing with school security, metal detectors, shakedowns, and even occasional bag searches whenever you entered the school. Suburban schools are amazing compared to most inner-city schools, so just be thankfull that you're in a much safer enviornment than alot of kids out there.

Anyway, about this whole thing in the Quarter.... That's all you can really say about something like this. And the really sad part is, there are people like this in every city, in every country, in every part of the world.

Neither one of those schools which are neworleans public schools besides, st aug. So I think that you need to say that some schools in new orleans were like taht not all.

DRUMROLL, please, fellow Louisianians.......................................

Crime in Bossier is still continuing the downward trend!! In 2005, Bossier City recorded only two homicides... and in 2006, only ONE!!!! Shreveport is roughly 4 times the size of Bossier, but even with a lower homicide count in Shreveport for 2006, they STILL had 30 times the homicides Bossier had.

Amazing. Keep it up, Bossier... the growth is going to continue to be non-stop after everyone hears this news. ;)

BR teen fatally shot

http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/police/6285497.html

This was waaaay too close to home; I currently work at the High School where these guys went to school. I know them both. They were Katrina evacuees from NOLA. Many others were involved. Unfortunatlely I knew the shooter more :(:( They live in the infamous Gardere area.(not very far from GSRI Road) About 5 miles SE of LSU. The one that got shot and killed dropped out back in November after football season. The shooter was in some of my classes and we talked plenty. He was a good strong armed QB his Jr. year who had a chance to possibly go to Grambling.. He broke his leg over the Summer, missed Football season his Sr. year. He recently was expelled. This is so hard to believe. Another Great American Tragedy. School will be very interesting Monday morning. I'm going to request metal detectors for school now.

**This story has changed since the posted story>> Daryl Stovall did not pull the trigger as they are still looking for him; Norman Gaulle(the QB) the one I'm talking about turned himself in.

Wednesday three teens were involved in the shooting Mayor Kip Holden's neighbor, a 69 year old man. It's really sad and sick....black on black crime has been bad; but it seems to be on spiraling out of control now. But it's not the "Skin" its the "Sin" as a Preacher once put it. The white people have been kidnapping, meth-addict or child porn charges. The news can be very depressing. Sorry to rant. I tried to stay away from the Crime forum.

Yeah Brian you are right...It's the "Sign of the Times"... turns out Norman was not the actual shooter; he handed Stovall the gun after Stovall's first gun malfunctioned. So Stovall did the shooting, they are still looking for him. Norman turned himself in, it ws crazy seeing him on the TV screen in cuffs being escorted to the back of the police car.

I just saw a 27 minute documentary "Obsession". About Islamic radicals and the Jihad. An instant eye-opener when you see it. Mainstream TV over there portraying the Statue of Liberty as a demon and tens of thousands screaming death to America. Little children screaming hate. All the terrorist attacks around the World since 9-11 from Morrocco, Indonesia, Kenya, London and Spain. They say "whole world must be converted to Muslim or else off with the infidels heads". Americans drinking the blood of the elderly; propaganda lies; totally SICK stuff! Islamic radicals protesting in the UK saying the British Parliament along with the White House will one day Muslim ruled, this is their goal.

You cannot appease tyrants. People tend to have a really bad or selective memory.

They have the same "Nazi" like symbols today as Hitler's regime used in the 30's. History has a funny way of repeating itself. All the liberals need to take a look at the documentary available on DVD.

As soon as Obama says get out March 2nd 2008, Al-Queida marks there calendar for March 3rd for the hostile take-over

Local and global.
