Greenville home sales and prices continue to look better than most of the state. The coastal and midland areas really took a hit in sales:

As for sales, every submarket in the state except one reported double-digit percentage declines, with some of the bigger metropolitan markets sliding more than 25 percent from a year ago. The Pee Dee area showed a 9 percent dip.

Charleston, the state’s largest market by volume, posted a 26 percent drop in closings. Myrtle Beach, the second-largest, slipped 25 percent. Columbia saw a decline of almost 28 percent while Greenville was down 12 percent.

Hilton Head slid nearly 24 percent, while nearby Beaufort dipped 28 percent.

As for median prices, the state’s three largest metropolitan areas posted increases of zero to 3 percent last month. Greenville held steady at $290,000 while Columbia was up about 2 percent to $254,500, and Charleston climbed 3 percent to $375,500.

Minor League baseball coming to Spartanburg as part of a $250mm development downtown

https://www.wyff4.com/article/spartanburg-south-carolina-new-minor-league-team-stadium-plans/43976849

"

The proposed state-of-the-art stadium, developed by The Johnson Group, will be owned by the city of Spartanburg. Diamond Baseball Holdings is the club’s new majority owner and would lease the stadium from the city of Spartanburg. Robins & Morton would serve as the general contractor for the construction of the stadium. The team could begin playing in Spartanburg as soon as the 2025 Minor League Baseball season.

With 3,500 fixed seats and a 5,000-plus-square-foot Club Room, the new stadium would also serve as a year-round venue for public and private events. In addition to the stadium, the 16-acre mixed-use site in downtown Spartanburg would include multifamily housing units, office space, and entertainment options as part of a more than $250 million development project."

Team will be linked to the Texas Rangers

Due to running out of space and significant growth, Southern Tide will be moving their headquarters to downtown Greenville:

Was looking at the leasing plan for this site several weeks ago and noticed this.  The renovation of this building has been looking really nice. Honestly it basically looks done, I'm surprised they aren't moving until next Fall.

There's a lack of details, but adding a Tesla parts distribution center certainly seems like a nice addition to our automotive scene: https://upstatebusinessjournal.com/square-feet/tesla-to-open-logistics-center-in-fountain-inn-south-carolina/

I can only hope we can eventually have a East Coast manufacturing site.

This was posted somewhere before but this is the latest plan.

Looks like this project has been revised and will be going back to the planning commission for approval soon

After:

Looking forward to seeing more renderings, but seems like they've gone totally away from the multifamily portion, surface parking, and shared garage

I hope they also go away from the fiber cement and go all brick masonry. The people that will rent them can afford the upgrade. Re-sale value (they plan to flip the property in about 10 years from their Q&A response) would also be higher.

Too bad entrance / exit cannot be shared with Andover Apartments. The traffic darting left & right out of Andover Apartments already plays a very competitive game of chicken with oncoming / passing traffic. Now, add vehicles turning out of this new complex right next door and we have a great recipe for frequent auto-accidents at this stretch of road.
