This is very new in Baton Rouge, 2nd year ?? This weekend.

This is at the Shaw Arts Center. This is not like the festivals we are used to seeing like Downtown Live, Earth Day, and Fest For All . I have seen some pretty cool cartoon drawings advertised

This event should be even bigger next year. This year they premiered Over The Hedge. The movies creator is a native of BR.

Also this weekend, we have Earth Day on Sunday afternoon downtown along North Blvd. It is one of the largest Earth Day events in the us.

The CBS Early Morning Show will be Filming LIVE from the U.S.S. KIDD in Downtown BR Wednesday July 26th from 6 to 8:00 a.m.

Wow, that's some awesome news, and Baton Rouge will get some great exposure out of that! I'd love to see it, but The Early Show isn't picked up by CBS affiliate WWLTV in New Orleans, instead we have a longer morning local news brodcast.

Awesome!! I'll set that to record!

They're giving away free sausage biscuits from McDonald's and free Coca-Cola, among others, to entice people into showing up for the program. Hell, that's a great idea!

I guess it was alright. They didn't really show the city as much as I had hoped, but we still got some exsposue which is the important thing.

Yeah, it's better when they really show things other than just reporting from one location like the Kidd. But the exposure is priceless. The intent of the show is to show the city in a positive light so that others will want to visit.

So, did anyone watch The Early Show? I thought it was funny when he was trying to feed the alligator. :)

I didn't get to see it because as I mentioned earlier, it's not broadcast in metro New Orleans. I'm hoping someone will put it or at least part of it up on YouTube though.

It's good to see them coming back to Baton Rouge every year. I wonder how much longer they will continue to come ?

They will continue to come as long as Pennington continues to bankroll most of the event. It is a fun and family friendly event.
