I couldn't say, as i have never been to Spokane, but it is definatly MUCH more liberal than the area that i moved from(suburbs in Tennessee's Williamson County, i don't even think that there is a democratic party there....)

Surely one of y'all out in Boise has a camera and access to the internet so you can post photos on photobucket or flickr or something and then include them on U.P. ?

WHERE ARE THE PICS?

As promised (finally downloaded, cropped and uploaded them), 3 days in Boise:

I really liked Boise. Tons of stuff to do, beautiful weather, gorgeous parks, on the river, very nice people, beautiful Downtown area with lots of activity, nice neighborhoods just off Downtown, etc. They also have one of the coolest Downtown libraries I've seen. And the Downtown area was nice and active, but had, for the most part, kept mostly locally-owned businesses in (no chains) except for a couple of areas where they seemed to be clustered. I could keep going on about why I liked it so much.

View of city from mountains (Bogus Basin Road):

Every Wednesday after 5 in the summer, Boise has "Alive After Five," a series of free, outdoor concerts around Downtown with beer, food and general good times.

Thanks for the pics Colin. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Boise. It really is a great city.

I'll have some pictures of my hometown of Coeur d'Alene, in northern Idaho, posted in a few days.

Boise's got alot going for it. Its a sunbelt city, its a state capitol, and its got an extremely low crime rate. Therefore, its economy is BOOMING! Its expected to grow by like 30% or so. I do think Boise is a nice city, but I will disagree with the comment made about the beautiful skyline; I think those hills look ugly as all get out, but then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?
