Happy Birthday Human Space Flight

2 posts in this topic

Human space flight is 45 years old today with the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's historic orbit around the earth on April 12th, 1961. Gagarin was a Russian cosmonaut of the now defunct Soviet Union. The event wasn't well received in the USA at the time, and America did not participate in the world wide celebrations upon Gagarin's successful return from space.

Here is to a very brave person that showed the rest of us the way into space.

It's interesting to note that 45 years later, the only viable space ships are those designed, built and operated by the Russians.
