Yeah that Historical Hotel re-opening is great for downtown! Esp. after being a shut-down since 1985, it became an eye-sore with moss and weeds growing out of the side. With the new Hilton Capitol Center and Shaw Center for the Arts, other developments will follow!

Those idiots wanted to practically tear 1/2 of downtown out. Thank goodness they kept the hotel and the Old State Capitol(castle). I wish they had not torn down the Paramount Theatre on Third Street. It would be in the middle of all the action!!

Wooh....What happened to the Skyline Lamar??? Where is the State Capitol and One American Place. BR's two tallest buildings just disappeared! Not much of a skyline without them both.

Sort of an illusion...... :shades:

BR's 2nd Tallest One American Place @ 310'ft.(back) hiding behind Chase Bank Tower 277ft' (3rd Tallest front); and Riverside North 229ft' (4th Tallest)....2nd, 3rd, & 4th Tallest in BR for now!

Lamar, is that in Port Allen? ie. with the bridge and light standards in the distance, it looks like an area near the soccer/baseball fields on the west side where my sister sponsored a Heartwalk benefit recently.

No it's Scotlandville. I'm working on getting some BR photos from the other side of the tracks, too many razzle dazzle pic of the city up.

I'm not sure Byrde :dontknow: There is something that looks like this(facing Lafayette St./behind Third St.) a block or two away with a lighted Palm tree on top. I am guessing this one is a residential loft. The other one may be a restuarant/club hang-out?

BTW the Live at Five is coming back.
