Bill Gates Center for Computer Science to open 2009

Seems like an older story but I must have missed it the first time, Bill and Melinda Gates are giving $20 million to CMU to construct a LEED certified green complex for computer science. Looking at the layout on campus it seems it will be one of the largest CMU buildings. Great news and great to hear that Bill is finally giving back in a HUGE way to the city where so many of his brain trust came from.

What an interesting project. I am glad it's happenening, but I want to hear more about what will go on in the building. How many jobs could it mean, etc.

I am happy it will be a green building, but it will look kind of weird on CMU's campus. Then again, that part of campus has a motley assortment of buildings as it is.
