Ive always had a certain CD I listen to when I pass through cities. I guess it all depends on what kind of a mood Im in  Usually when Im in Richmond, I turn on The Fray. What do you guys listen to when you go downtown in any city? This is an important part of the whole city experience

The best music when driving through a city, particularly downtown where you're driving pretty slow, is to have the windows rolled down and the sunroof open. Then you can take in the sounds of the cars, trains, people walking down the streets and talking, etc. I much prefer the sounds of the city to any CD.

depends on my mood... sometimes i like some upbeat phish (46 days for instance), but when i'm cruising downtown, old classy billy joel works for me (he always puts me in a new york feeling). otherwise, i just listen to whatever i've got in the CD player... some CD's are better for road trips than others though...
