^^ Nice pics Nate. Crystal-clear blue skies! Hopefully this will be the norm with the sky looking like this on Monday-Wednesday.

A cool front is passing thru SE La. as we speak. So nicer, cooler weather should be on tap. Yesterday was the first-"full" day of Fall. But you would have never known it; it was HOT and HUMID at the LSU game. "Sweatin' bullettzz". :dontknow:

The weather we had down here today was absolutely beautiful; low 70's all day, with a nice cool breeze to go along with it. And of couse, that always wonderful clear blue sky! :D

Didn't have the nice blue skies but we had the cooler weather up here as well. We only got up to 61 today. :D

Low 70s all day... wow. I recall it was cool up here that day but not THAT cool.

It was about 93 on Saturday when I went to take pictures at the zoo in Tyler (I still haven't even checked out or new zoo yet) but it was down in the 80s today. Looks like it's going to be about that from here on out... I love Fall. But it was a nice, crisp morning today and the skies were nice and blue all day. Not as blue as in your shots, because there were some really high, white clouds... but it was nice for a change!

Summer has been in full force here in early October. Baton Rouge Metro Airport BROKE a record-high set on this date way back in 1904 with a HIGH Temp. of 97 degrees!!!

Some relief though, a nice cool front will have low temps. in the upper 50's by Saturday morning.

^^^LOOK at the temps. as of 4:45PM A warm 84 in Baton Rouge and only a chilly 57 in Shreveport...A Strong Canadian Cold Front is currently moving across the state. TWC just reported a rotating T-Storm cell moving ESE across northern Beauregard near DeRidder. It's a mean looking storm!

WOW only 48 in Memphis and freezing temps. in the Twin Cities. Thunder-snow in Buffalo NY.

Thanks for the graphics Nate. You ain't kiddin'...this is some whacky weather. They had said this was the hottest Summer EVER in the U.S. Now you have a December like-huge low pressure plaguing the Midwest.

Cold-Front days are always interesting and even exciting with the dramatic changes. Bring on the cooler-air!

TWC just said damage was reported with this Super-Cell T-Storm near DeRidder. Downed trees and torn-up buildings. They say the cell is begining to get .weaker

I expect youll all be out and about enjoying the cool, crisp fall day :)

I spent the beatiful night we had yesterday on a boat out on Lake Ponchartrain with some friends, before we eventually docked and headed into New Orleans for some of the finest nightlife in the country. :D

But you're right, what a beautiful weekend!

A Big Rain Event? with rainfall amounts of 2 to 3" inches of rain; Sunday PM thru Tuesday AM ?? 1st- A stationary front in the gulf with a low pressure(western gulf) will be the reason; then an upper-level low out west will add to it? We sure could use the rain; it's getting dry again. Very little rain her in BR lately.

Add to this if you like SlidellWX...Some serious weather today. This system caused flooding problems in the Houston area with 11-12" of rain. It also produced at least 16 tornadoes in coastal Texas and Louisiana. Carville reported a possible tornado with wind damage at 4:15am. Western La. has been getting pounded this evening with torrential rainfall rates of 2 to 4" per hour. This system flooded parts of Alexandria and surrounding areas. The strong low-pressure in the lower Mississippi Valley is below 1000mb(low barometric pressure)= to a Tropical Storm. Oil rigs in the northern Gulf have reported winds 55-60mph. This is the closest thing to a tropical storm we will experience this season. Coastal Flood Warnings and Flash Flood Watches are in effect too. Seas are up 9 to 13 feet with tides 2 to 3 feet above normal! The dew points are very high in the region fueling this system; and the temp. is 80 degrees at 10:00 PM in BR...Crazy for mid-October. We have had gusty winds here today.

Wow that's chilly...the mid 40's in NWA; did it stay cloudy all day??

We are still at 77 in BR, it's gone thru Shreveport; about a 20 degree difference. But it will be cooler by morning with low's around 54 and 50 tommorrow night. We got 1.4" of rain with some quick moving T-Storms in the late morning.

Our coolest low is still warmer than yall's mid-40's up in NWA.

Has the cold front affected you guys much yet? I was a bit surprised how cold it was up here. Not even that close to the predicted highs. We barely made it out of the mid 40's up here today.

It will be affecting us temperature-wise tommorow. That giant line of thunderstorms you see on the radar above was the front pushing through, and it looks like we'll be in the upper 60's through most of tommorow, which is very nice. :D

What an October with all the rainfall!!! Three months worth of rain in a couple days in south-central La. The Suger Cane crop has been saved, the prayers have been answered. Salt-water intrusion from hurricane Rita and drought nearly ruined everything, but with all the rain they will make-it.

Rainfall in SW La. was called a "once-every 10-15 year event" Thursday night closing schools and flooding some homes. Maybe SlidellWX can get some record October rain-totals? Opelousas had over 10" ..this past storm. Over 15" of rain this month(since Oct 14th) in parts of west-central La.

In BR Tornadoes swept just to the north of the city in Greenwell Springs early Friday am. We got 3" of rain and a total of 8.7" since Oct 14th!

But nice cool crisp weather for this weekend!
