The Gold Line construction on Trade Street on Friday, between Poplar St. and Church St.  It was a very busy site.

 Also a couple of the Grand Bohemian, which is next to this construction.

Im tired of asking questions about what could have been...meaning this bridge should already be open...but im just glad its starting to look like a bridge again!

I really wish they would pave the entire road in concrete, instead of just adjacent to the rails.  There are several spots near McDowell where the asphalt has sunk noticeably from the concrete, which both looks bad and is somewhat hazardous to drive on.  I suspect concrete is more expensive initially than asphalt, but if you look at older concrete roads like Charlottetowne (Old Independence), they seem to have held up pretty well despite age and amount of use.

In high school one of my clever friends said we should have rubber roads and concrete tires so to cut open the road is easy and no one ever has a flat tire.

Tracks officially run through Five Points. Hoping they open up the intersection this week. Was originally scheduled for the 28th so not too bad.

I wish Phase 2 would of extended to the Rosa Parks Transit Center.  I will assume crossing 277 and 85 isn't cheap. Beatties Ford  is in desperate need for some development.

I really truly think they are already going to be traveling too great of a distance, for Streetcar to be useful for further stretches.

Per the last FTA quarterly report:

• Phase 2 construction is scheduled for completion in March 2020. "Substantial Project Construction Completion" is listed as September 2020. "Target Revenue Service" date is February 2021.

I would be surprised if they make the March construction completion date. Caternary and signals or station finishes haven't begun yet.

Revenue service date was pushed back due to a desire to avoid testing during the RNC and because security would prevent streetcars from moving from the Gold Line to the storage facilities on the Blue Line since the middle of the line will be shutdown during the convention.

Anyone know if they are planning to re-brick the street here. Always thought it was a nice touch.  Went really well with the brick at Gateway Village.

There has been a crew out here all week until at least 7 pm in the cold working under the lights. Hawthorne Lane in front of Hawthorne Lane Methodist.

Just got the weekly email from the city on the Gold Line construction.  They are going to begin welding for the tracks on the central side of the bridge starting 11/19 to 11/21.  And speaking of the bridge:

The last time I saw that, they had installed the wrong girders .
