If RiversEdge@Berkely is the project I'm thinkin of...that thing was to be build on top of a major toxic hot spot. I mean literally they were going to have to post signs on the dock informing fishers not to eat the fish! Additionally, it was located just South of an active Fertilizer manufacturer and just North of a busy heavy rail line transporting open containers of coal (not that this doesn't cut through many Norfolk neighborhoods as it is). All this and not to mention the project would be built on land that has been used for heavy polluting industry for the past century!!! I mean you can say its cleaned up but Really??? Also to the East is I 464 and to the West is the most polluted river on the East coast (except maybe some parts of NY's East river around the Greenpoint neighborhood).
