Excellent article on how the BBC is retracing the steps and vistas of one of the most comprehensive (if not the most complete) photo essays of Pittsburgh. It was accomplished by the renown W. Eugene Smith from 1955-1957 and the PG has several complementary articles on his endeavor. Beautiful trip down memory lane to a bygone era when Pittsburgh was one of the world's most powerful cities.

The gallery runs again this Friday at CMU.
