Thanks for all the coverage of the Sandler Center. It is a neat facility and I've enjoyed every story about it.

If parking is free in VBTC, why do you suppose it can't be free in downtown Norfolk and Richmond? That would be a perfect way to get people back on the streets of old city centers.

A virtuoso performance

Somewhere north of 1,200 people will gather in the theater for Perlman's performance. Meantime, back in a few dank basements, the loud crowd - which declaim every penny spent on anything as if it were an assault on their vision of 450,000 separate kingdoms - will have lost another battle. They will have attacked the performing arts center with the same vigor they brought to 31st Street, or the new convention center, or to just about every proposal that threatens to improve life in Virginia Beach, and they will have lost.
