Mohegan Tribe annexes 73 acres

Developers over the last couple of years have purchased and resold key pieces of property in Uncasville while the Mohegan Tribe has taken its time in creating the 700-acre reservation it is entitled to under a 1994 land claim settlement with the federal government.


The most recent Mohegan trust acquisition, completed in February and encompassing 49 acres in Montville and 24 acres in Norwich, will cost Montville $268,000 in annual tax revenue and will cost Norwich about $10,000.
