Great pics! Its been quite a while since i drove NC 73 through there. My elementary school went on a field trip to the Indian Mound place which was pretty cool.

Theres another Food King in Norman, Richmond County as well. Interestingly enough, NC 73 passes through both Norman, Mt Gilead and also the hometown of Metro.m. (southern extents of the greater Lake Norman area)

I am not familiar with the Food King in Norman. I know they have stores in Rockingham, Ellerbe, Troy, Mt. Gilead, and Biscoe. Most of the stores are older architecture and decor, so it's like walking thru a time-warp when you enter the doors.

"NOW I remember where Norman is!!!" I was drawing a blank but now remember it's right near Ellerbe. If ya blink you'll definitely miss it!

Your right, it was Ellerbe.
